Xpeng's deliveries take a hit during the holiday slump, but the company has its eyes on the future. Xpeng delivered 15,256 vehicles in February, a 49.90% year-on-year decline and a 23.76% month-on-month drop, due to the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday and the fading of national support policies.
But here's where it gets interesting: Xpeng is not letting this setback slow them down. They're gearing up for a big launch on March 2, where they'll unveil their second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) model and the updated version of their all-electric X9 MPV.
The company is also expanding its horizons internationally, with global deliveries of its new P7+ model already underway and more countries on the horizon. Xpeng's software capabilities in artificial intelligence are also gaining traction, with Volkswagen becoming the first commercial customer for its second-generation VLA solution.
Xpeng's CEO, He Xiaopeng, has set ambitious goals for the company's overseas operations, aiming for annual overseas sales of 1 million vehicles by 2030 with over 70% of profits coming from international markets. So, while Xpeng may have taken a hit in February, they're looking ahead to a bright future with innovative technology and global expansion.
